Integrated Urban Waste Management Vlora – Program<\/h1>\n

MIM Vlore was founded in March 2019 as the regional waste management centre in the Waste Zone North Vlore, covering the municipalities of Vlor\u00eb and Selenic\u00eb. Introduction of sustainable regional waste management practices – sanitary landfill, sorting of recyclables, compost production – goes along with the supply of new municipal waste collection equipment, and is supported by the German-Albanian Cooperation through KfW Development Bank in the framework of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Programme Vlore. The various activities of the Programme are coordinated by the National Agency of Water Supply, Sewerage and <\/em><\/p>\n

Waste Infrastructure (AKUM). The Programme supports the Albanian National Waste Management Strategy and the harmonisation of Albanian standards with environmental standards of the EU.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Construction works at the landfill site and sorting plant near Sherisht\u00eb are in progress, and operations are expected to begin in early 2022. The pilot compost plant will become operational in 2023<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
